Opening an NRL: Editable New Version or Read-Only Copy

In LINK, when you receive an NRL file and attempt to make edits, you will be notified if there is a newer version of the file available.

First, tap on the NRL attachment in the email. When it opens, tap the pencil icon in the upper right.

A pop-up appears asking if you’d like to “Edit in Office” or “Annotate PDF in LINK”. Select “Edit in Office”.

Another message box may appear informing you that a newer version of the NRL document is available. You may choose “Edit latest” to proceed to the editor with the latest version (this means there is a version of the NRL newer than the one from your email attachment).

Or you may select “Open read-only” to open the version from your email attachment (you will not be able to edit this version).
